WordPress Updates

The new WordPress updates are for security measures. Of course if you update WordPress or it has been done for you, you will also begin to see theme and plugin updates after this update. Go ahead and click updates where you see the numbers in your admin menu to the left.

FIRST – Do a back up of your site. When you click on updates it should give you this option by a  link to update your site by backing it up first. The back up can be saved server side or sent as a zip file to the admin’s email. Let the backup go through its process…do not interupt this process.

THEN – update your WordPress plugin.

After this –  update your theme and plugins.

If you have a secure sftp then you will have to enter in your password for connection.

Let the updates finish.

You will be all up to date!
